Artist Bios & Contact Information

Paul Novatny - A well-known Toronto bassist who currently tours with Joe Sealy. He also runs a very busy recording studio, Big Nut Audio. He’s been an immense help over the last few years helping to fine tune the Lyric bass and his contribution to the CD was so stellar I chose it for the opening cut. www.theaudioproducers.com

Jonathan Lewis - A long time player of a 5-string Millennium, his band, the Plaid-Tongued Devils deserve far greater recognition for their lyrics and playing. Check them out if they ever play near you. www.thedevils.com

John Scott - A multi-talented cellist who’s also no slouch on accordion and church organ. Currently playing cello with The Paul Cram Orchestra out of Halifax. jscott@ns.sympatico.ca

Jamie Gatti - Nova Scotia’s premier bassist, tours with The Barra MacNeil’s and records with virtually everybody else around. Released “Holiday Bassix” last year, a great selection of Christmas material done on his basses. 902.860.0271

Sean Kemp - Originally from England and new to Nova Scotia, Sean quickly got a gig touring with Lennie Gallant and was a whiz at doing first takes for the samples on the CD. 902.422.9788

Kirk Hazel - A rising young star who plays well beyond his years. Currently touring with 60 Watt Vamp and Cookoo Moon. He’s also the cool player shown in the Profundo ads. 902.582.3378
Accompanying him on the cut is Ken Shorely, percussionist extraordinaire. 902.542.0867

Fleur Mainville - At a young age she was sharing the stage with Buddy MacMaster and Jerry Holland. I met her around 1996 when she joined MacKeel a 6-piece Celtic rock band and badly needed an electric violin. She’s just released her first solo CD “ Finding Treasures” fleur@canada.com

Dr. Christoph Both - One of the busiest people I know. He runs the String Department and Music Technology Lab at Acadia University, plays in Sanctuary, a unique trio with a Bass Clarinet and Pipe Organ. And last time I looked in he was building a small plane in his garage. www.sanctuarytrio.ca

Carey Langille - Our local recording guru who always makes everything sound great. He did the final mastering and fixed up the little digital glitches. www.oceansoundproductions.com

John Tetrault & MikeWatson - Image Sound – Also known as the “Bossa Brothers” and members of the “John Tetrault Quartet”. These guys hauled their mobile recording unit all over Nova Scotia to capture the sound of my instruments. John has been integral to my work since day one when we played as a duo on a cruise ship. Over the last 20 years he has been my main sounding board for design innovations and critical analysis of my new work. 902.542.7938
